The Journey

writebetweenworlds: Women Witness Congo “We live on an interconnected planet, and what is happening to Congo is happening to ourselves as well. Can we understand that we are not separate selves, but that everything happening in the world is happening to ourselves? If so, it stands to reason, then, that in the transition to the [...]

Just think about it. China comes and say “we will give you $20 billion to build the continent. We will help you in Agriculture”Result: Africans are now learning Mandarin, appreciating China’s different interaction with Africa which does not bring guns that kill its children. The US says “we will send our soldiers in Africa to make your soldiers more efficient. We will kill Kony. And about that democracy stuff Obama talked about in Ghana, well… we will talk about it”Result: more discontent with the hypocrisy of US policy in Africa, oppressive regimes using military support to kill any growing national dissent, wars of aggression in Mali and Congo, etc.USA… this is not sustainable! It is time to change the course!

What CNN does not want you to know about gorillas in the Virunga Park. It is not the rebels that are threatening their lives. It is a British Oil company called Soco Oil International. No time during the show tonight on CNN you even heard the name of the oil company.
