Kambale breaks the silence at UNITY 08′ in Chicago
Mr Kambale Musavuli with Friends of the Congo attended UNITY 08′ July 23-27 at McCormick Place West in Chicago. He was able to ask a question to journalists of Color on why they do not cover news on the Congo properly on the last day of the Convention.
On Sunday, July 27th, there was a roundtable discussion on political campaign coverage which began at 9:00 a.m in the Skyline Ballroom at McCormick Place West convention center in Chicago, Illinois. The topic was: “Covering the Presidential Campaign: Sound Bites or Serious Journalism.
This panel is aimed at setting the stage for the speeches by Democrat Barack Obama (confirmed) and John McCain (invited). The panelists will discuss campaign coverage, how race has been dealt with as an issue by the candidates and the news media, and provide tips on how journalists can do a better job of covering politics.
